1964 Kennedy Half Dollars
(1/1)
Armorer73:
Ever since i started my MD addiction my interest in coins hase risen. In my travels here in Okinawa I am starting to come across more and more little shops selling American coins. I want to start purchasing 64 Kennedy halfs. What is a good standard price to pay for these ungraded and in varying conditions. I have found a place that sells their halfs for $10 a piece. Would that be a smart purchase point or should I look for a lower price?
Thanks Guys

At today's price of silver and copper, the 90% silver coin has a melt value of around $8.50. You won't find it in a coin shop for that amount. At $10.00 per coin, that's not bad.
Current melt value is here: You are not allowed to view links.

Is the probability of these coins being worth more than melt value low?

Not that date, I'm afraid. Proof coins are worth more but not the generally circulated coins.
