The US mint must be making a mint over collectible quarters as I just saw that they are going to release 56 new designs starting in 2010 to commemorate national parks, forest or historical site for each state (plus more as we dont have that many states). Looks like they will be in the order that the park or site was established.

It is all starting to look like play money - more than once I've tried to use a new nickel in place of a quarter because the hooey on the back looks like the designs from one of the state quarters.

I like your avatar, esp including your name, as I had a Manx cat, named Mike, who looked just like the picture. Gentle giant who died a couple years ago. Enjoy remembering him when I read any of your posts. Sue

No no - didn't take it as 'cheeky' at all. I definitely prefer the older silver myself. I just put the new quarter design post on here as a heads up that there will be new quarters popping up in parks and tot lots. I'm not an excited coin collector  Smiley

My 1st Manx was of the vicious variety - have lots of scars on my arms to remind me of him. Smart cat but he'd flip out in a primal fantasy mode. Sue
