Error Coin

Get-er-Dug:
I found a 1982-P Jefferson Nickel in a coin machine today. At first it looked normal but it had a sharp edge. As I examined it further
I saw that the rim was raised on the edge and the letters on the coin extended up the raised rim.
I do not know if this is a planchet error or what it is. Not sure if someone was just playing around.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
