I have this 1945 Austrailian Penny that seems to have an overstamp on the reverse. I have looked as best as I can, but I have not been able to find this error. PLEASE HEEEAAAALLLLLP!

P.S. Sorry for the pic quality....camera is a cheap POS....going to try to borrow the wife's.

Please do.  Lighting is great, though.  So between using a camera with a decent macro and the lighting you should get some good shots.

For anyone that doesn't have a camera with a decent macro, IF you have access to a scanner you can use it to get shots of "flat" items like coins that will detailed enough to use.

I have been trying since yesterday to post 2 more pics, but I keep running into issues......I am going to fiddle with the type of pic, but may have to start a new post.

OK. After 7 tries, I have finally managed to resize the damn clearest pic I was able to take! The process was almost as frustrating as watching the election results!

So now, on to my observations. If you look between the kangaroo and the word PENNY, you can (or at least I do) see the top outline of a head.....almost like the die from the other side was pressed too hard. When you look at the coin under a maggot-frying glass, you can see that it is the entire silloutte, but not the details.

When I got the coin, there had been a strip of clear tape on it that had been removed but the gum was left behind. Does anyone know a way to clean the gum off without damaging the coin?

This is one I am DEFINATELY going to have graded/ appraised if it is an error.

I have to defer to our members from Australia and/or those like GD who have spent a lot of time there.  It does look to me as though the outline of George V's head is visible on the the image you show (with the nose in the tail), but beyond that, I can't say much about it.   I don't know how common of a strike that would be in the Australian mints of 1945.   Heck, I don't even know how much of a premium the Australian market would place on mint errors and what type they would consider worthy of a premium if they do.

Aggie, I agree, which is why I was hoping for some help from their neck of the woods! I have another real beaut, but it's from 1942. I dare say it would almost fall into the "uncirculated" category, if not right below.
