Thats not a good test the ring is 925 where the coin maybe 500 or 800 silver so would discriminate it out.

But I am with Homefire looks like something from the wedding.

Although I did not spend much time on this, I can only tell you that the two main suspects, aluminium and silver, have not been ruled out yet.  They can only be told apart, without a mass spec, by feel.  Silver should be a little heavier if I recall.

There are certainly more metals or compounds that this piece could be but I have to think that those two have to be our suspects.  Good luck with this and please let us know what you find.

I believe that it has a 50/50 chance of going either way but my bet goes on a more recent piece due tho it's not being buried or dirty when found.  I would personally have a little fun with researching it.  Maybe you could find the wedding party in question and inquire about the piece.  It is pretty cool.

BTW, my fiance' thinks that it may have been a heirloom intended as a wedding present from a family member or friend.

i have posted this coin on several forum sites and most of the people who have replied all say its a replica probably from a museum shop sold to tourists or from one of the many reproduction companys found on the internet because its too big and too heavy to be genuine either way im just happy i found it and happy to have had so much interest in it from everyone
