Queen Victoria 1887 half crown

(1/1)

nickel_n:
I got the coin on eBay.
It was described as "coin found in a draw"
What can you make of it? Is a crack on the die,   :) or is a counterfeit? :(
You can see the crack just above the M on Britanniarum.
When I look at it on the rim the crack/split go for a few mills in to the coin.
Looks like the metal its been folded there. I could push  a razor blade in. [nono]

Ridge Runner:
Its not uncommon for British coins to have faults, I have A sixpence with a dollop of silver underneath the Colons which I have never seen before,, Check to see how flat your coin is with a straight edge because if it has had a Bend in it IT might of happened when it was straightend and if it has been then it wont be perfectly flat and it was made around the time of the Boer war so perfection would not have been a high priority and most of the men were away at War which only left women and teenage Boys to do the work,

Looks like some Spalding on the coin.   Imperfections in the Planch Pop up , Raise or Separate.
