I really hope your wish comes to life, TBD... really! They're out there... all's we gotta do is pass th' coil over 'em!
Dean? Here's the "rest of the story"...:
The edge hole is when/how people would string up their coinage so as not to lose them... period.
Back "in the ol' days", even a large cent was 1 to a ? day's pay, so they had to do something to "safeguard" their payage.
"I know what ta do, Efrum...! Jus' drill a hole in th' bugger, an' ya won't lose it!"
A lot of "poor people" were forced to "get radical" when it came to protecting thier meager monies like this. This is common knowledge, I should think...
... 'cause, at the time, it wasn't against the law to "de-face government property"...!
As for the center hole... well... I think what I have here is the same exact coin that was nailed on the mainsil (main sail) that Hollywood re-made, of the movie ("I seek the white whale!") "Moby Dick" (a must-see, by the way)...!
Pretty hard to beat a find like that, eh?
Arrrr!
(What'd that parrot say on "Treasure Island"...? "Pieces-of-8... Pieces-of-8...!"
