here is a Roman Bronce coin that I have found recently. It is a Follis of Constantin I. teh Great, Gloria-Exercitus-Type
Av.: CONSTANTI - NVS MAX AVG,
Rv.: GLOR - IA EXERC - ITVS
2 Soldiers are facing each other.

Must have been made in Heraclea around 333-336 after Christ.

Hello Jim,

well it took us about 4 - 5 day hunts to come up with them. They were all within one square kilometer I'd say.

Regards,

Christian

Well, personnaly my tatse of coins whas changed over the years. At first I loved finding old German silver coins which tend to be very thin - but as thsoe are damaged often I am now into very thick and heavy Roman coins  Wink

Great finds, Christian.  Did you find your coins in a field?  How far away from your home were you?

In more local coin store they were selling roman coins for sbout $5 each.Alot of them just looked like a pebble or something. But then there were some that had some reading visible. When it comes to metal detecting I'm better buying coins than finding them. But thats just me.
