Then why the heck is this one silver in color ? I cant find it any where. and don't want to scratch it to test it with acid. I don't even know if it is silver or even a real coin any help would be awesome!!!! Thanks , Jimby

Game piece, token, commemorative of some kind. How about some details on how you came to have it.

Well it goes like this Crazy I purchased a six pound box of foriegn coins and that was one of the coins that I pulled out along with about 15 other uk coins of different dates some large pennys and ect, will post the good ones there was a 1965 Churchhill comemerative crown, but research shows it is copper/nickel. But still way cool if you ask me. some of alot of everthing I will be busy sorting for a while.  these photos show just a few examples of some coins.

In Australia, they have a game called Two-Up which uses a flat wooden paddle and two Australian pennies. Those pennies are large, like the UK pennies, but are no longer in circulation. Every now and again, a set is found in the game shops with gold plated pennies. Imagine if you found one of those?

As Seldom suggested, it may be a plated coin used as a game piece.

Hi Jimby

First thing that I thought when I saw your coin was that it had been plated, As you know copper is very easy to plate, I there for have to agree with Seldome.

All the best to ya mate

so I should point out that the little box in the picture "ISN'T" the box all the coins came in just one I was putting keepers in.
As for the silver 62 British penny still no clue . But here are some of the other keepers.I am having a blast with this box , and the friends kids will get the leftovers and doubles.

Two simple things can cause it to be colored silver. One is that it is plated with either nickel or silver. The other is that it has been coated with mercury. Either way, the copper is still inside.

you could always try weighing it and/or running specific gravity tests on it.    There is at least one instance known where a 65 British penning was minted on a gold planchet
