so this silver penny wieghs 9.7grams and wont even leave a mark on a testing stone.I dont want to apply acid solution directly to the coin .
I am thinking someone may have made it out another metal base material like you all have suggested. i did make  a very small nick on the rim and put it under a usb micro scope I believe it to be solid metal not coated. beats the Devil outta me.

At 9.7 grams, it is approximately .3 grams heavier than it should be.    By the way, it should be bronze, not copper.

Hi Jimby

Perhaps this is the one you've been waiting for, the only one made of silver and probably by accident (Could it be a new run of coins and there was still silver in the press?)

Silver would even leave a gray streak on a piece of paper when you stroke it across. magnetic?

Has it occurred to you to take it to a coin dealer for evaluation? You might have a very nice Christmas present if you do.
