Marie,
I am in the Colo Spgs area, and I go looking for minerals, fossils, bottles, and metal detectors. You can of course go up to Devil's Head mountain, and on south side area, look for Topaz. And on up the sid of the mountain, people go looking for smoky quartz, amazonite, and other crystals. If you want to get together sometime, let me know. And there is one book that they use for minerals in Colorado, was written by Prof Richard Pearl, who is since deceased, and it gives you specific places for the entire state of Colorado. Jerry
