I'm fairly new to metal detecting and treasure hunting and live in West Ky. Does anyone have any stories or ledgons form around my area that I can chase after?

Go to your local library.   Ask the librarians for any books, pamphlets or flyers on State, county or local histories as far back as you can go.  They will be happy to help you find information.  You will have to read them to find what you're looking for!
