That's because the clouds and the rains have decided to hangout in the "Valley of the Sun" for the better part of the weekend. Winds are practically nil, so they just sit here (which I wouldn't mind except my metal detecting club is having it's annual competitive hunt tomorrow "rain or shine" and I'd rather not get wet and muddy.

I've been workin my way up the east coast and last week in Venice FL was 86. Went from that to 23 now in Fredricksburg, VA. Had an hour of freezing sleet at 27 degrees this afternoon on I-95...... Yikes!

Haven't a clue. We know he has been in and out of the hospital a couple of times since Thanksgiving. But he's not returning our calls and neither is my brother, so we're headed to Houston next weekend to track him down---even if it means camping out on my brother's door step until we get some answers.

Getting back on subject.....5:49 am, it is 61 F / 16 C with light winds and light rain. Forecasted high 64. Rain all day (I hope someone besides me brings pop-up shelters to keep the prizes and food for today's competitive hunt dry).

You guys still in a deep-freeze?

Well, our competitive hunt was "interesting". I wound up quitting after about 20 minutes or so....don't know whether the wet was getting to the control boxes (even though I had them well wrap or the headphones or what), but after having my lobo fail completely on me and only getting faint sound out of the Fisher (even with the volume cranked up), I decided discretion was the better part of wisdom and left the field of competition. (can't say that discretion was the better part of valor, because I went back out with my camera taking pictures even after I got soaked to the bone.) We made some adjustments, but the members present had a good time. Lots of them came off the field with handfuls of silver coins and Ike dollars...but at least it wasn't cold or particularly windy. Picture to follow.

Yuck! Nasty weather.

My Tiger Shark is fast becoming my main machine and since it is a dry land or underwater machine, I believe it will handle rain this spring. We'll find out.
