We're planning to move to the Shrewsbury/ Worcester Ma area.
I was a member of a metal detecting Club in th Newton area decades ago and
would like to join a club in my new area.
Can annybody supply me with any information about what's available and how to contact them?

If you can't find one, start one. The GPAA (Gold Prospector's Association of America) has chapters all over and most are detectorists.

To be honest, since we have only a limited hunting season in New England (I'm in Connecticut) that we don't really see a need to join a club. I am a GPAA member and occasionally attend one of their meetings but I don't see myself mining any more at my advanced age. Such is life.

Over thirty (30) years ago I was a member of a club that met in the Newton/Watertown MA area.
It was fun because we could share our finding experience, club humts and meeting people who would go out together.
I don't mind solitude but being new to the area(after being gone for 3 decades I consider myself new to the area) I thought it would be helpful to learn what is being found and perhaps in what areas, not specific sites.
Having a partner motivates me to get out and do it

20F here this morning.  Ran out of propane went out side to get the spare bottle.  Couldn't lift the dang thing off the ground.   LOL, Then I realized it was frozen to the ground.  Getting out chasing some gold is sorta a low priority today.   You'all be keepin this cold stuff in your own neck of da woods, eaaaaaa!
