Press on, mate. I know what Australian bureaucracy is like. In WA, we had to turn in every piece of found jewelry to the police with a 2 page form. After 90 days, if not claimed, we could keep it.

In this country, you're more likely to find that kind of regulation at the local level---or possibly as a state park regulation.    The internet is your friend when it comes to searching for rules, regulations, and ordinances.

I would also like to congratulate you RHATSKY.
First for what you are doing to the grave site and second for putting up with the Parks and Wildlife officers.
On my last encounter with them I was told that I was free to take any gold nuggets I could find as I was a current mining licenses holder,
But I should rebury all coins and artifacts…..

Gidday nickel_n and xavier, the rules within rules are strange, iwas communications manager with the Winns and Australian Safari for 10 years and spotted a bad accident on the Alice Springs to Rabbit Flat road so had my pilot land on the road and removed a badly inured woman.  Back in the air contacted the Flying Doctor service and arranged a transfer at Yendamanu (i think that is the name)  We landed and wished to place the patient in strecher as Doctor was coming soon .  We were quickly informed not to leave the plane as we did not have a permit. Bet you Yanks could hear my outburst. Had police speak to us at Darwin 3 days later at the airport and they apologised and said thanks . Funny world.    cheers RHATSKY
