Need Ideas on a Contest for the DIY, Not Scary folks on a Whites Surf Master PCB .

It Took a Swim.

Pots were rusted to there Death.

PCB looks good.   One IC Shows some Corrosion on a few pin legs.

ISO Alcohol and and Tooth Brush should take care of that.

I was thinking this contest is for the DIY and I'll Fix it folks out there.

All documentation is available for this board.

Carl Monroe from Geo Tech provided a usable Schematic for it as well on GeoTech.

My question is How do you want this to Work?

I will pay shipping world Wide but the Customs and Duties is up to You.

For a Mear, $45.00 Payable to the Forum As Donation of course. I will go through the board , Insure it works  and  and Guarantee it works.

Other wise it's up to you.

As far as I see, it just needs two pots a Coil  and battery and you have a cool PI detector.

What ya all Say?

Are you serious? A toasted PC board?

I think we can do better than that.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

What makes you think it's toasted?

You don't have it in your hands.

I can make it work.

Ok, I retreact all said before.

I will make it work and then offer it.

LOL,   NO Sence of Adventure?

In two days it will be offered as a working PCB, OK?

That sounds a bit better. Not everyone drools over a salt encrusted PC board. I'd rather have cashew nuts with a beer.

Why do I have to offer anything? This is your project. I have enough on my plate right now. Maybe later I'll unpack some of my TH books and offer one in a raffle of some kind.

I still have around 300 boxes to unpack. One of them may actually hold a treasure or two.

Being of sorta the same make , I bet you have too many Irons in the fire too.

I have A Silverdog PI Kit sitting in the sock drawer waiting  my attention.

I have a Bounty Hunter LS that needs a Pot having a bit of hard time finding.

I have a Garrett 200 waiting for me to come accross some cheap batteries.

I have my Like A Brick Garret ADS 5.5Khz  looking for a New Coil .

Just weeding out some of the I can do with out stuff.

Did I mention, Eugine and I are working on a Tesoro 20Khz Gold machine?

Can you use a Fisher 70Khz Coil? 5" * 10? I have one that needs a home.

Can you use a  Minelab Coil Technoigy OO type Coil?   19"   Monster.

It will work on most any PI if you just set the Damper right.

 Cool

On Second thought, I'm going to offer it as is.

Only those that want to play will do there thing.

It's not going to cost them any thing unless Customs and Duties come to play.

I was going to try and get the forum some money but I guess that will come later. Cool

LOL! It's been apart in my to do pile for 6 months.

I really think it's ok.

If not, any one with a bit of I want to could make it work.

I left all Pig tails to the Pin Connectors.

No Obvious Salt damage.

It was the Pots that died.

the Puckered PCB Tracks you see are over heating when they Float Soldered the board.

NOT from the Dunk.

I worked in a Place that did that same OOps.
