My wife has a antique shop so she shops the garage sales and thrift stores daily she makes 300 to 700 a month on gold and silver she pays 20 to 30 bucks for. She bought a earring in Dec for a dime at a garage sale I checked and it was gold with what we figured was a CZ. When she took it to our buyer he payed her 17 dollars for the setting and 225 dollars for the stone which was a real diamond.

That just goes to show that the folks here that say you CAN'T get money for the stones, only for the metal, still have a thing or two to learn  Wink

I would suggest to extend this very nice contest as there are unfortunately yet too few submissions.

Yeah your right BA but many gold buyers want buy stones. We sell to a small family owned jewelery store that will buy most stones and pays 95% of spot for gold

I love this contest even though I have not got anything to show right now.  My wife and I attend auctions, flea markets and yard sales along with the usual thrift stores.  Folks the stuff is out there and you may be the next one to make a big find.  I just sold some cameras (3) for just under $1000.  Purchase price $150.  Yep it did relieve tension.
