Hi Ghost a
Are you offering to put up GPX 5000 as a prize ?? Cause I would sure like a piece of that action. Hell I would pay to enter that comp. Does anyone know whats happened to the current competition ?? as the month of April is almost over in the Southern Hemisphere. I tried to PM Christian to ask him about it, however I don't think it sent successfully as it's not appearing in my list of Pm's.

Look in your PM outbox and see if it's there. If it is, it was sent. If not, do it over.

It would seem it either didn't send or I didnt have a copy because I didnt click the save a copy box, but i dont think I did that in any other msg's I've sent and I have all them but I have a copy this time so it's definetly sent. Will let you all know when he replies, if there are any updates on whats happening, with this comp.

Ah, yes. The feature can be set to auto save so I do have all of my outgoing. As moderators, we sometimes get nasty, cranky, abusive notes from users so it's nice to be able to see my response to them and show them to Christian if I have to.

My attitude on this contest is to just be patient. Christian has a very full plate keeping this forum running and the contest, for him, has a low priority. Having other forums to administer, I can understand quite readily why the forum attacks and security upgrades have priority.

Hi GD
I wouldn't dream of hinting impatience or rudness, it's not my nature. I can fully understand he has a life outside this forum and other matters to take care off, The only reason I get to check in everyday is my back is shot so I dont do a lot else, but read, and when im up to it go detecting. People have often said to me it must be nice to kick back on a pension, yea it would be great. If I had the money to kick back LOL.

Did you ever notice how many of us have some sort of disabling ailment? This hobby/profession of ours is a very gentle form of exercise coupled with a lovely trip outdoors in most cases. Just about everyone here is either very old (like this guy) or somehow limited in ability. Some of us don't work by choice and some by disability.

It's a shame really. Can't we all just be young again?

I second that GoldDigger1950. If they could just make  faster headway on all the science stuff they are working on. Supposedly getting close on stem  cells or whatever to regrow different body parts. Such as teeth.

I heard a song once that said you "Dont appreciate the power and beauty of your youth till your old, but you wont understand this till your old" So so true. Iwish they would find a cure for worn joints im all of 44 and have the spine of an 80 year old, and unfortunatley it's not one from a fit 80 year old. on the bright side I got paid today to search a yard for a gate transponder, didn't find it. But I was paid to search, not find. Almost felt bad taking the guys money, almost Smiley
