Go Up Go Down

hi
i hope i'm doing this right, i'm a newbie at this. I posted this find last month. It's a Mexican Biker ring. These were made in the 1930's-50's. I found it in the parking strip by my dad's 1925 house. As soon as i saw it, I knew it was special. These rings, I've found out, are very much sought after these days. Unfortunately it doesn't fit any of my fingers and besides I can't really afford to keep anything this valuable. The real pleasure is in finding it, and restoring it and then getting it to someone who really values it. I sold it for $225+ship on eBay, but I felt I had to return the money because the solder holding on the side shields had become brittle and the shields fell off. I could have glued them on, but they would have fallen off again, sooner than later, if I did that.

I plan to resolder the shields with a special low temperature (270*) solder. I want a very low temp solder because I have to get the entire ring that hot for the solder to stick to the ring, and I'm afraid a very high heat may damage the paint on the feathers. Once resoldered, the ring should be good for another 70 years.

what it looked like before cleaning. It looked nice actually. I tried to save the patina on the Indian face, lost just a little of it in the upper right corner of the forehead.

We've already had this discussion. The finds WERE to be listed in March but Christian just extended it due to server problems. Read the previous portions of this topic thread to clarify it to yourself.

Due to the attacks and the site being unavailable on some occasions I'm extending the submission periode till the end of the week.

This is where Christian extended it.

Yea but that was the bit I was unclear on did he mean the April part had been extended, or the March bit, or both. Which is why i said i could be wrong and that Christian was the one who could say for sure. As only one of those guys had posted the find in March. but it's the end of the week here in Australia today and would have to be close in the rest of the world. So all will be revealed soon enough. But while I have everyones attention, To those who celebrate Easter may You and Your family have a safe and happy holiday.

the problem accessing the website did not occur at all during March, I think. I know I didn't have a problem until this last week.

With all the confusion, please just let me know when the judging starts.  Tomorrow (Sat. the 7th of March)  being the last day for inters, a week of judging I assume, judging will begin the 15th of March? Is this going to be correct?

I'm pretty sure you mean April, not March.

The only one confused here seems to be you, mate. The very first post on this topic explained it quite clearly as far as the dates are concerned. Christian added a week to help folks who were locked out for some time due to the hacking attack. Your entry is in. Good luck.
