OK.. thanks.

I saw a picture that I think you posted of a burned down house, and I hope that it wasn't yours. I live in San Diego County and there were thousands of homes burned in the fires in the last 10 years. The picture I saw looks like it could have been taken here in the mountains.

Is it ok to get off the subject like this? If not, how would I ask a member a question?

Hang on to your finds Gertrude I will start a new contest the middle of July and run it 6 weeks. Plus instead of me and a couple of other mods judging it, going to set it up so the members can vote on the best finds.

OK, I'll hang on to my "finds" just in case... Letting the members vote for the winner would be fun.

You may get off topic. It's always better though to start a new topic whenever it is of primary importance. You decide that. When it is really inappropriate or really far away from topic, a moderator might move it for you. When that happens, you get a notice by PM.

Regarding contacting a member, simply click on their name and you will open a PM window and be able to leave them private messages. The PM option is on the member summary page. You can also click on the cartoon bubble icon below the user's information on the left side of any message they have left.
