I might as well enter the cross I found today. It measures 2 1/4" by 3" and weighs 17.3 grams. It is definitely the prettiest one I have ever found while detecting. I am still excited about finding it.

I found this on Friday, May 12, 2009, about 7:30 PM EST at a state park near an old town.
It was a beautiful evening, 65 degrees clear, with a slight breeze  :Smiley
Had the little squirt with me. We bee lined it to the area I found the 1800 era button the day before.
Not 15 minutes later and 15 yards away from that button I found this.  Shocked

1827 Matron Head Large Cent, Newcomb #2(I think)
Does anyone think I should clean it up first?
