This is my finds from today , snuck out for a quick tot lot hunt. Park was just built 2 years ago , and I never expected this much , must have a lot of kids around the area , I think I stumbled onto a penny cache.

Holy Pennys!!!!

Anyways nothing special.

Go Up Go Down

Just got home after a productive day, gotta charge camera, and post photo's so far i have 3 old brass 303 cartridges, all fired also the speed loader to go with them the cartridges are stamped 2 are 1942 and 1 is 1941, so they are Govt issue, also I dont think the speed loaders were sold on the civilian market, from the same area I found a fired .303 projectile it has stryation marks on it from the rifle barrel and asbsolutly no impact damage, I had to stop detecting in that area, as it used to be an artillery firing range, used by both the US and Australian military during ww2 and there are signs everywhere warning about unexploded shells everywhere, which being a local to the area I know are quite valid sign's because every now and then you get to hear one go off. On the way home, I stopped at an old farmhouse where just the barn is standing the house is gone, inside two very nasty rabbit/dog traps and a welding gauge ive had one of the traps on the polishing wheel as it has writing stamped n the spring and may help date them, and the most curious thing is a very nasty looking, possible comb, it looks like part of some sheep shearing clippers with a metal rod bronzed onto it then hose sliped over the handle for grip,if it is a home made comb one would have to be either brave or stupid to use it as the points are still quite pointy and would do you a very nasty headwound, i will upload photo's as soon as my camera has charged, i would still be there but at the moment it's pouring rain, and local rivers are flooding some are possibly on the news over there. and the river in question is between my house and were i have been cant wait to get back to the farm as i was only there for an hour and it seems like a real treasure trove for relics.

Go Up Go Down

It's picture time, just went to the local Tot lot, as we had a break in rain. and it's undercover. but alas nothing of worth to mention just a nasty piece of glass, two nails and what do you know a piece of shredded coke can im finding WAY to many shredded bits of can in sandpits for it to be chance some lowlife is seeding them. anyways here's my entries so far.

Posted on: February 04, 2012, 04:36:27 AM
Just a quick point on the above pictures in the first picture, at the top of the photo are 3 pieces to what i believe is an old brass blowtorch, or some other similar item. I know this because i have several and have restored them. these were NOT detected mith a MD i seen these on the surface, they are not to be counted as part of this contest please. because as Stated i specked them by eye. I didnt find them with my MD and i lost the projectile only the items mentioned were found with my detector, sorry for any confusion. But just want to remain honest
Keep on
 Detecting
