Go Up Go Down

This was found underground in the backyard of my recently purchased home (built 1900). It looks like a Matchbox car to me, or perhaps a  similar brand (UK maybe) that isn't produced anymore.
Being the toy car enthusiast I am, I cherish them all - even the rusty & recked. It's still cute and most of the red paint is still on. I think it had a high, dome roof (sort of like an old Bentley)
that rusted off. Any thoughts?

Pics  are'nt in-largeing enough here but it looks like it might be what they called a tootsie car. And by the way... Hello &  Welcome to the forum from Kansas.  Great  Check out Ebay typing in "tootsie car" to see if you find one like it and see its worth maybe...TootsieToy is a manufacturer of die cast toy cars and other toy vehicles.

The TootsieToy brand has its origins in a range of miniature cars in the form of charms, pins, cuff links and the like, introduced circa 1901 by the Chicago based Dowst Brothers company. The first actual model car from the company was a 1911 closed limousine which was followed by a 1915 Ford Model T open tourer. By the early 1920s the name 'tootsie' was being used as a brand name and "Tootsietoy" was registered as a trade mark in 1924. The 'Tootsie' moniker apparently came from one of the Dowst Brothers' granddaughters, whose name was "Toots".[

It is the size of a common Matchbox or Hot Wheels. It does seem like a Tootsie. I viewed some on E-Bay, and see the old ones have the same wheels. Tootsie even made some beautiful Bentleys with the updated wheels ( I'd love to know what car make mine was modeled after). My kids ( born in 90's & 00's) have definitely owned some Tootsie brand toys, but not cars. They were jump ropes, bubbles, paddle balls... - the sorts of things you treat kids to at supermarket & pharmacy trips. I'm hadn't considered checking the car's dollar value. The current value is that my teenage daughter placed it on her prized miniature shelf.  Smiley
