Go Up Go Down

So i found a scale model of a MC601 Wildcat on the street in a pile of junk waiting to get picked up by garbagemen.
The thing is massive, weighs a ton (not literally Tongue ).
All i could find about the real thing, is that it never saw production, a few prototypes were build and the radarsystem is made by Holland Signaal (which is around the corner from where i live) and is also used on the Gepard Flakpanzer.
The chassis is also made by Krauss-Maffei Wegmann.
So i'm curious where this model came from.
I highly doubt it's a commercial model.
I mailed KMW since they made the chassis, hoping they could give some more info about it but i got no response.
One thing is sure, this thing is pretty damn rare Smiley

Go Up Go Down

Maybe someone from Holland Signaal who had been on the project had it in their office.   Probably took it home later and then the wife said "either it goes or I go".   Those types of models are pretty common in defense contractor offices and/or in the offices of military officials associated with the R&D and initial deployment.
