I think that is an elegant design,  Cornelius.   About how many hours do you estimate that would take a handy d.i.y'er?

BB . The prototype did take me quite some time .  I had to order magnets out of Germany ( to make the water tight coupling ) . I had to think about boyancy . Etc. Etc . Now with all the measurements known ,  it would take about one week to finish this project . The depth it will go is  100ft , which is more than sufficient for a regular scuba diver . The things I had in mind is to use my DPB 2010 to find a target and than to lower the ROV to find out what this taget is .  The ROV is fully equiped to go in any direction I want it to go   ( up , down , left , right and backwards ) . So ... I can move it around any target without having to move the boat .   Regards  Cornelius

Cornelius,
The design looks great, Do you have any plans drawn up? What is the estimated cost in U.S.$ ?

Goldnboy.  The material is all PVC exept for the magnets ( the coupling )  . With the DBP2010 I search for a hit . After that I will lower the ROV to see what that hit is .  A suction dredge would be handy to take away the overburden ( sand ) if that is necessary .  A little more handy than diving all the time to find out what is hidden in the sand .  Cornelius

 hello Cornelius
Very nice, i would imagine you could win some prizes for this rov " looks great and a very good price.
Could you post some plans to make it , and how about the control unit ? You probly made it also Smiley

The go pro video camera could be a good option for underwater operation, but i think you will need some lighting options for good images at depth...
