Go Up Go Down

The five silver half dollars were carefully buried.  My wife listened dutifully to my instructions and watched the demonstration.  I stuck the Lesche into the ground about 3 or 4 inches and made a gash in the earth.  Rocking the blade in 4 directions, a spade shaped opening formed in the black clay filled dirt.  Taking a worn walking liberty in my hand, I held it horizontally and pressed it partially into the side wall of the opening.  She nodded dutifully.  The two football sized field lay out before her with the boundaries delineated...tree line on two sides, barbed wire fence on the East side and the overhead high voltage power lines to the South.  I removed the walker and handed her the Lesche, reminding her to remember where she placed each one.  Pulling the other four coins out of my pocket, three walkers, one Franklin and one Kennedy...all 90% silver editions...I placed them in her outstretched hand.  I watched for a few seconds as she headed out into the darkness.  Then I turned and got back in the truck, pulling my coat hood down over my face and turning on the radio.

What seemed like a long time later ended with the truck door opening quickly.  "Its done." she said.  I fired up the engine and we headed to home and bed.

And so, it begins.... Sunny

Thought the idea was to find it and dig it, not bury it and hide it?

If you don't mind a few suggestions, if you work in a 20 x 20 foot (or a bit larger) area to start with, you will be able to get in more practice rounds in a given time frame. Something I try to avoid is if for whatever reason I haven't got a solid pinpoint after say five minutes, I don't go around aimlessly trying to find anything I can grasp at in despair. I mark the lines I get so I can go back and see where I went right and where I went wrong. I recall getting a lot of encouragement seeing I had at least hit one line correct.  Also, likely there is going to be other silver in your search area. This makes it somewhat difficult to learn when you get a pinpoint and can't find the target it could be deep silver. So what I am saying is, just accept there are going to be "failures" and don't dwell on them too much. A journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.

Edit:

When I say a 20 x 20 foot area, I mean this is where the target is hidden. Actually you would want to stand back 20 - 50 feet to start. Remember it takes quite a while to learn anything until you can do it without thinking about it. You need to filter out all the influences around you and within you.

A failure is a failure, not a first step. Is he to expect failure after failure?

Failures? Can't recall who said they learned more from failures than success.

That's got nothing to do with your statement nor my comment. My comment has to do with the excuses that dowsers make for dowsing never working at all. When you get the courage to allow a scientific study of your skills, let me know.

Well either you got it or you dont. The dowsers I knew had no training, or book to read. You found a rod, and you dowsed. Im sure there may be a process, but the people I seen dowsing were running a scam. I come from the people of Apalacia, and would say dowsing is older than the hills. Since native american runs in my family, I dont know the begginings of dowsing, but ihave seen it done as recently as the mid 1980's.. I dont discredit the ways of the backwoods as I have seen many miricales, unexlainable. I like to associate it with Radon Gas poisoning.........guess what Im saying is science and beliefes can walk side by side. As for scams and excuses, they are what they are. Keep it light.  :)I would love to take his challenge, under a scrutinizing eye of science, and I dont have any dowsing experience. Maybe a test with multiple subjects, and the results posted. But where I come from dowsing was for finding water. I look forward to future post and see how this goes.

And that's the entire problem in a nutshell.
