What is the best type of metal to use for making dowsing rods? I made some out of an old coat hanger and made some out of brass rods that i got at the local hardware store. Both sets work, but if i can do better i sure want to try!

Interesting.
Now getting a pair of L rods that were gold would be a huge task.

Since i asked this question i did a little reading, and while gold sounds good ( and maybe cool to have), i think it might be a little (okay a lot) "over the top" especially since apparently it's how you use them and not what their made out of.

Depends on who you talk to. I have read that gold is not that good. Many prefer brass. One guy said high-carbon steel. Personally I do not like brass. It just seems dead to me. One problem is there are many alloys and some even contain lead. I also read that about one-third of the people have good results with copper. And some people say it doesn't matter. So I guess it depends on what works best for you. If you can't dowse then you won't notice any difference anyway.

Well, not to be a cynic, but gravity does not hold all things together. Gravity is the weakest known force. if it were any stronger, everything would collapse upon itself worse than a black hole.

Since I am on this topic, not only do objects have gravity, they also have what some refer to as levity. This is like the opposite of gravity. As an object absorbs energy (depending on the wavelength as it has to be the resonant frequency to be absorbed or else it is reflected) it also radiates energy, what some call radiation pressure.

Well, I am only partly with you on this.  When dealing with metals, in air, the velocity ratios are so different 99% of acoustic energy will be reflected anysway.  Now if using a couplant, say water, you may lose only 75% acoustic energy.  But this still depends on the direction of propagation, density, impedance, frequency etc.  I do have an ex wife who is so dense almost nothing penetrates.  Now that is levity, or in this case humour.
