Good points Bear,
I usually drink alot of water before dowsing for anything.  Our bodies are good conductors of electricity and made up of about 70% water.  I like your ideas, which goes to prove there's more than one way to dowse, we just have to find a method that works for ourselves.  I have read that you can change the course of an underground stream thats 8-15' feet underground and running into a house that has a basement and a 24/7 pump.  The instructions are to back up 20 or so feet from the house, pounding a big stake about 3' deep in the middle of the stream and tapping with a sledge hammer 3 times on the side of the stake the direction that you want the stream to run.  Have you had any experience or seen it done?

Never heard that and never saw it done. I have used a spoon to see how deep the stream was though.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

well; Some of the dowsers around here, can tell you how deep the uderground stream is by bounces a spoon makes over the area, The amount of bounces would indicate the depth of the water.

As for the type of metal, I don't think it makes a difference. All that makes a difference is your belief, your hydration and mineral status, and your mindset. I base this solely on talks I have had with experienced dowsers. As for the changing of stream directions underground, I have been told to use about an 18 inch piece of rebar pounded into the ground at the point your dowsing tells you to. There is a well experienced dowser in washington state who taught me this. He says it is very important to ones health to control the flow of underground streams so that they do not run under places where you spend a considerable amount of time. he has quite a bit of personal evidence to back up his claims.

All good replies, Thanks everybody. I still haven't been anywhere ( out of public view )   to give my rods a good try, but when i do I'll let you all know what happens.
