ram, for me, an ordinary cement or 18k necklace or ring will do.
i even used a small piece of rusty g.i sheet.
in finding treasure using my dowsing device.
because sometimes Asian looted treasure are put in a drum.

Louis Turenne. You won't find much about him unless you can read French. Hills inherited his entire life's work. Turenne originally used coils at the end of the rod. He abandoned this in favor of magnets. If you are at all interested in this get the Supersensonics book.

-----

I am not saying I have never picked up iron. I have when the solar storms were messing with things, but I wasn't using a magnet-fitted rod at the time.

Hey gooner? Here is a little experiment for you. Take your  rods and step on a coin. Notice the speed in which the rods close. Now take a bar magnet and place it in your shirt pocket with one pole pointing to the right...Or you can put it under your pants at the waist.
Now step on the coin again. Note the movement of the rods..Now turn the magnet around so the other pole is pointing right?Step on the coin and note the movement of the rods?Art
