Dowsing

About 56 years ago. My father and mother purchased a new house. Shortly after we move in, we had no water. The builder had more wells drilled and still no water. An engineer was called in and he told them where to drill and still no water. The builder and engineer were frustrated. The builder was upset as he lost all his profit to drilling and engineering fees.

My father told them about a farmer that new how to dowse. Well the engineer thought it was crazy and the builder was willing to try anything. It wasn't long before the farmer was dowsing and the engineer, builder, well driller, my father and myself were watching.  The engineer tried to lead him to where he thought the water was located. No water. Finall the farmer said there was water in the back corner of the property. The well driller said I get my rig in place. The farmer told him no. He said the water was only 45 feet down and that it needed to be hand dug. Well it was hand dug and the hit a loarge slab of granite about 30 feet down. The farmer said the water was just on the other side of the slab. The well driller went and got some dynamite and they blaster the slab. Water was just on the other side of the slab. Water was found just about 45 feet down with a depth of over 25 feet.

Last I heard was the engineer was training with the farmer to learn dowsing. If I had not seen it, I probably would have not believed it.

Here in New Mecxio , Deming I had a Temp Job drilling wells.   Water is were you find it.  If you drill deep enough You will find water.    My well is 200ft and had water at 116ft until the Power station fired up.  Now it's at 160ft and seems to be being sucked out faster then Our Well Can replace.  I may be needing to punch a new well.  LOL  Only 24 dollars a ft down to 3 or 4 hundred feet to last 10 years.  Funy part is I live just off the Membres River  That had trout in it in 1976 and now is dry.  Water war's started a long time ago.

I looked at some pictures on the internet. You are really low on water. You don't have 5% of what should be there.  Thats a problem when the river is formed by water run off. The area around the river is beautiful.

While working for the Well Guys, we would do wells along the Florida Mnts.  One day you would do a well on one side of the road and find water at 200ft.  Next week do a well and run out of money at 700 Ft.  If they had the money you may find the water at 750Ft.  Rock Faults was the ticket.  Down here in the Valley you could punch a well in a day to two.  Up in Silver City you had to Punch through Rock and it could take you a month.  We just had a Hammer Drill.  Lift the Bit and Drop it.  We had water witches tell us were to drill and like most they knew there was water down there.   There is NO place in the Earth you can't find water if you go deep enough.

I can't afford to be too skeptical about water witching.   My wife used to go out witching with her grandpa when she was in early elementary school.  He'd witch out the spot and then he'd have her tell the folks how deep.  Seems she had a "gift" for that and was usually within a couple of feet of the correct depth.

Did she ever tell you how to do it? Did they use a dowsing stick or dividing rods?

Homie, that's the point---she could tell how deep it was by counting the dips her grandpa's divining stick made....and I ain't going to call Mrs BA a liar, especially when it comes to something she was doing between ages 6 and 9.

Now if you want my personal opinion on the matter, the whole thing worked through her grandpa's subconscious knowledge of the area and its geology and his years of experience....after all he was the one that did the actual witching.   (Although I have seen Mrs BA do a few unexplained things on her own (other than reading my mind) during the time I've known her).

BA
