I totally agree. One method (LRL) utilizes physics.

No it doesn't. It uses fake "science" to explain nothing.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Hi Foxs ,In you tube there is a video of how to make a metal detector out of a cd,cd-r, earphones and a 9 volt battery supposely gives you up to 9 inches ground penetration and do not have interference.

some others find water with a wood rod or other objects like Mosses did, than metal detectors came along, now some people want to save the walking and avoid combing the grownd  from a fix spot where than they work from and go direct to the place where they feel the signal comes from lets say from 10 yards away or as far as they are able to intercept the signal...I dont find any thing wrong with that?
Now if some ofyou understand dowsing and works for you and still a simple welding rod is not suficient to some and want sufistication, more power to them or to whom they believe inwhom may sell them even if it implies a price and some one is willing to pay it, if you ask me..please take no ofense and have a wonderfull day!!

Hey cuirava?great post..You are right?I can find the same objects with a set of rods. The only difference that electronic prospecting has is more information. The present day devices are getting better at provided the needed information.
When I find a signal with my present device it will tell me the distance, the depth, estimate the weight and tell me if it is a coin, a bar or a ring.
No more following a signal for 3 miles over the mountains, thought the thick trees and over and under the many dead falls just to find out that the target is 30 feet deep.
My energy levels are not what they used to be?I now find myself setting my unit up to search for some thing that is under a ? mile and a depth under 3 foot. If I walk one mile I have searched a whole square mile. That would take a person using a conventional metal detector at least a month?.
It is my money and I will spend it as I see fit..Art

Well I know one thing.  When I swing a med detector, it beeps, I dig, then pull it out of the ground.  And I can do that all day long in just about any place in front of as many independant witnesses as care to show up.  If divining rods were the answer and could beat that, we'd all be buying them cause Whites, Fisher...etc. would be making them like crazy.  They'd out-sell metal detectors if they could find gold.

That is your right Okletsee? All we want is to be left alone to discuss our hobby. Most of the people who bother us have never Dowsed or used a LRL?That is their problem not ours..No matter what tools you choose to Treasure Hunt with it is no one else?s business?.Art

I usually talk LRLs, but I have 7 detectors. Wouldn't go without one of them.

thanks guys, and fenixdigger thats right, dowsing its only another tool, to me metal detectors are a must, specially if they disctiminate and I must say that by the same token my welding rods show me every thing of metal or voids or water and in many cases I dont even understand how they work but in every hit I get by a rule if a detetector fail to work than I try a deep detector ( gemini 3 in my case)and if its negative than I forget that spot and move on, I realise that there are many geo forces that make a dowsing rod register, so it may not necesarely means its metal.
Best regards
