Great Idea goldnboy!!!!
Even know I don't understand much of electronics I belieave I have a cense of what I would like to have on my hunting arsenal so please allow my humble opinion, but an exponation based on past experience first, for better understanding, if you don't mind.

I own a vhs100 and the problem is that even konw it dicriminate agains iron and junk it still designed to react to many minerals.  I supposs the inventor consider them part of ores and minerals  compositions essencially related to gold and silver and quarts and the machine reacts to all that, even reacts to sulfuric accid, it did in the midle of the desert , once I located perhaps from over a mile away a 7 inch wide gap running several feet about 4 feet deep even know it wasnt detectible by metal detectors  Still I did explore it and came to a very thin but extra hard crost like, that send sparks flying off my pick on every stick.   After soaking samples on water it turn water yelloish and sulfuric smell ,like crazy.  Curious its the machine nickname, also loves deer piss, I been told does in heat period produce selenium in the piss discharch(?) so often enough I find myself on deer or antelope rest spots!
Dispite all this and believing the ingriedients in the machine are in it....... will you believe I still have not stricked  a cache yet?
So a machine able to do gold and silver alone will be a break thru if you ask me,and even know the use for metal detectors its essential and will continue to be cause the lrods are simply a extra tool for us to have, lets hope the comunity will back you up, it may stir a fear of loss wich is very natural.
Go for It.
Regards, Diego.

Hi Diego;

Sounds familiar. Here's a good guess at what's going on and how to fix it.

Your signal is not exact for what you need. The hz. is off, or the shape of the wave, or the purity of signal.

Since you have pissed a lot more money away than you should have, let's see if we can fix this.

*Tune the machine. This will only work for the wrong hz. It can't fix a bad generator. Requires a helper.  Set the machine up and put the sample 25--50 ft away, set it for the sample and give it a few minutes. Walk between the machine and the sample and see if you get a reaction. If not, have the helper adjust the hz. until you do, while you stand between the sample and machine.
This does not mean the sample material is the only thing you will pick up. You are on a "harmonic" and it could match several other materials.

* Use the sample-- My favorite---  Set the machine up and tune to the sample with it 100 ft away. Wait a few minutes and walk around the sample, 10 ft away from it. Mark any reactions. Walk out to 50 ft and circle the sample again, marking any reaction. Move the sample 100 ft and set up again, same thing and check for a common point between the 2.

When you triangulate the spot, you are not on the target. Most likely it is within 100 ft, usually to the N/N/W

Hope this helps. Better luck with silver.

I forgot this-- If you get signals at the Cardinal points of the sample, you have hit the exact hz. for that material and do not lead to a target. You can check this when you move the sample.

You can set up at a spot like the deer piss and tune until you knock it out while keeping the sample in. Keep anything you find that is not what you want. Each time you set up put the container of trash items down and make sure they are tuned out.

Using one of these is about increasing your odds. Maybe they are a device that makes us guess better, who knows?

To really tune, you need to bury the sample. Good luck

Some good advice LT?He can also set his sample out and mark the spot. Then set a piece of gold on top of the box..If the spot changes you are not tuned ..Art

Hey goldnboy? If you have a walkie talkie with a channel at 462.7125 MHz you can try using it as a LRL. I think it is channel 7?Set a piece of gold down and have someone hold down the send button..walk between it and the gold and see if you get a signal?this will let you know if you want to spent your time and money to make one?I also can get a response from a cell phone and a calculator using the number 353?Art

Hey goldnboy.. That is a very popular rumor? I have some different frequencies taken from different devices.. Some just work better than others? Gold? 5.13? 3.025? 5.7?. 1.5185? 1.729.. Silver? 5.68? 14.955? It would be a good idea to find plans for a MFD? Most have a dial to change the frequencies?.Art

Hi Art  and thank you for the info, Ive taken some notes. I found some plans for a MFD, it looked OK also looking to get as much info as possible first. It should be a fun project.
Have you got some theory about the micro gold and to eliminate it?  Cool
