Hi All,

I did this for my boss when I was a kid and it is in your mind..nothing more, nothing less...I would find water with this method and my boss showed me how to do it..never did believe in it myself but did it and he charged for the service. My opinion was that no matter where you made it find water there was water there anyway. I would ask a customer where he wanted the well, I would dowse and would make it show water where he really needed the well and when I drilled the well, there was water there...I was not impressed and my boss used me to make money with the dowsing. Back then it was $25.00 for the service..ha ha ha..but they always got water too..

Hi All,
Something to be aware of about dowsing rods!

Any straight round metal rod such as a straightened out coat hanger will align itself with the earths magnet field north and south.

Works on the same principle as a paper clip compass straightened out and floating on a leaf in water, one end will point north and the other south.

To test this yourself straight out an old metal coat hanger and balance it in the center on a sharp edge like a knife blade aligned east west and watch it align itself with north south and then sit and quiver.

If you do two of them and balance them both to find out which ends points north as it can be different on each rod. You will have a set of dowsing rods.

Bend a handle at 90 degree to fit loosely in your hand and you are ready to douse for water or anything that upset the earths magnet filed.

Watch out for scams as my grandfather used this to sell dowsing rods to suckers and also to find water that we all know is at bedrock just about anywhere you want to drill.

It is a fun thing to play with so give it a try.

Dowsing, LRL's and other such non-sense. Grin

There is just no scientific fact which supports dowsing or LRL's or other such endeavors.
Dowsing has the same basis as Santa Claus, the tooth fairy, various Gods, leprechauns, etc.
In short wishful thinking.

If wishful thinking is part of your human psyche, that's OK. We all play various "games of luck" such as "Tatts Lotto" in Australia, etc. knowing full well, that the odds of winning a major price are 1,000,000 to 1, yet, we continue to gamble.

Where I do get a laugh is when some actually claim that "their" system works, guaranteed. Of course, their system will cost $$$$$$. When it does not work as promised, it's the users fault, as they were not attuned to the cosmic consciousness.

Fools and their money are easily separated, fact of life, as is dowsing; a hoax. Amen

Have a great time and use a metal detector.  Detecting
See you up them thar hills.
Frank

It's an old  nay sayers ploy to say that if you dig deep enough you will hit water, which is true.

Dowsing is much more than just locating Water. A good water Dowser will also find location of the most palatable (Best) water, tell you at what depth to drill, and give a close estimation of the quantity in Gallons per minute, (GPM) you can expect.

I agree, that when hand held  metal Rods, including Copper & Brass, are used in  conjunction with the human body in a physics application, they will react to Magnetic "fields". I have conducted a number of  Blind, magnetometer vs  Copper & Brass Dowsing Rods comparison tests that confirm this.    Dell

Hi Frank. You have told us what not to use.

in your expertise, can you offer any good suggestions for locating  Treasures that are beyond the depth capability of conventional  metal detectors?  Thanks Dell
