hey hepdalo....It seems that what the rods are made of is one of those things that is a matter of what you prefer. A set of rods made from coat hangers will work. I prefer brass or bronze welding rod. Some people like to have handles where the rods turn freely inside of copper or plastic. To start with I would think any kind of metal to learn with. To start I would make the handles 4 1/2 inches long and the other end about 17 inches long. Hope this helps you...Art

"You can make a Y-rod by selecting two flexible knitting needles and sticking the pointed ends into a cork, or by using parts from old windscreen wiper blades. If you do opt for a twig, select a tree with flexible branches, such as willow, and try to find a twig which has two arms of equal thickness. The thicker the wood the stronger the reaction you'll get from it, so be careful! Some dowsers have been hit in the face (or elsewhere) by their Y-rods!"  Grin

thanks all of you. I tried some kind of dowsing rods.
I think getting more concantrated is more effective than the type of material used to make a rod.
Because, I even tried plastik sticks and the rods showed me something.
But I couldn't get sure if is there anything worth to dig?
Do you know any clue to help me to guess what kind of thing the rods show me?
Because in my country it is illegal to search for treasure.

'Because in my country it is illegal to search for treasure.' Angry

I was in a situation like that and made a dowsing rod that looked like a walking stick. I was still approached and asked what I was doing. I have tried dowsing for almost forty years and still dont know what is going on. Smiley I was at the dentists a few months ago and the conversation turned to how the drought was going. I mentioned that my well was getting pretty low. He said to just dowse for a better location. He was taught to use copper rods and that is what he used to put in his wells. I told him copper is about the only thing I had not tried, but would do so. I have read that having a dowser lay a hand on your shoulder will transfer the ability to you. Good Luck and stay away from those pesky government types.
