Go Up Go Down

I have been drawn lately to the Dowsing forum on T.Net by some weird curiosity I cannot seem to shake.
The same old arguments are being bantered about that were on the original TTHN site.  Nothing has changed except the names of the participants.  Del is still around trying to inform others about dowsing, but he is constantly being hammered by Sam who uses serveral different names.  I wonder how many names old Sam has used in the past few years.   Many of the names have been kicked off forums.
There are some other participants that seem to wish to inform others but the many names Sam uses tries to counter all their posts with the same old arguments.
I long for the old days when the arguments were fresh and there were many participants rather than four or five writers.
Remember Richard W. who had great treasure leads including the Drake treasure?
Some writers of the past have died.
I haven't heard from Bill with the Sound Witch in years.  He was a learned gentleman we met at an LRL gathering where even Carl NC dowsed a silver dollar and then claimed he didn't when he thought about it later as it would destroy his image, I guess.
Jungle Jim passed an LRL  test at our LRL meeting but the results were disputed by people who weren't even there while the participants saw with their own lying eyes the positive results.
Well, Dan DeQuille is still out there researching great leads and using any sort of equipment that would help him find the goodies.

Joe,
I have four conventional metal detectors that I have acquired through the years.
    I have three LRL instruments.
    Bottle probes and digging tools.
I have tried different dowsing ideas with penulums, rods, etc.
I read a great deal looking for leads.
I love maps and use as many as I can. The internet has great maps to use.  I also have a source that I keep to myself.  It is a public source but nobody uses it.
Research is the key and I have done plenty of it from the Bancroft Library at the University of California to museums in Europe or whatever.
If you will look under RELICS on his site you will find many nice things I have found.

Yep Sam's latest name is Jerry Ledet. He's back at Google talking to himself! It's sad to see he can't function in a forum anymore. Hey Dan what brands LRL do you use?

Tim,
Sometime I think I will try to recall all the names Sam has used.  It's easy to spot his writing style because the message is the same and certain phrases are used such as, "technically challenged." Sam is successful though because he has run off many posters and prevented many discussions on forums for those interested in detecting from a distance.
I have used Electroscopes for many years.  My Electroscope guru is Steve White who was a champion scoper.  He wrote on forums in the past but got tired of arguing with the many Sams so he quit wasting his time.
The most important long range technique I use presently is just to spend time in diaries and old newspapers looking for good leads.  Then I can check on the area using the  wonderful maps on the net.  When a good lead is found and then located I use topozone to find the geographic coordinates which I enter onto my GPS and thus able to get to exact spots.  Using probate records and other information can also help.  Finding treasure is not easy, but for me it is fun to do the whole process,

That's the whole idea, "fun in the process". I enjoy hunting and the research part of it also. But I do love to get out in the wide open spaces. I plan on hunting full time soon, if things work out.

Tim,
When are you going to build me a unit that will detect gold face masks at 6 to 9 feet? I am running out of time. As an aside, we are designing a new Psi Tracker. One that will detect a signal line much sharper.

dan,

Those are some wonderful artifacts you have recovered. I can only imagine the wonderful opportunity to hunt in Europe.

I was wondering how much you rely on the LRL's when you are hunting?

I see on another forum that Christian is selling a Sam Scaffari original pendulum.  Sam sold two types I understand.  The one shown is the brass one.
