DowserBill:
By the time, I get into the area, set up camp, hike to the site, take a photo, come out, mail the photo to The UK, and wait for a reply,
If you can ever get in contact me, as I will be in the field for months (8-10 !), and I have no where to have mail delivery,
As, I don't know where in the Western U.S. States, I'd be at the time!!
I can better explore around and find it!
Thanks anyway!

Captbil, Dowsing only provides a possible starting point for a search.

Unless a  short distance, large scale  photo is taken directly above the suspect target,  the X  location a dowser places on a photo does not  necessarily mean "dig here " and get rich,  only that they are detecting a target within that vicinity.

I narrowed down your search to a  starting point for you, to locating a shaft entrance that is near a large boulder near the top of the ridge in the small scale photo you sent.

You have never said if, or what instruments you used to try to find the entrance I dowsed within that proximity?  Dell

All other Dowsers? That is not true. I don't.

But, admittedly I am certainly not good enough to claim pinpoint accuracy every time on a small scale map, or photo.

Using Terra Server aerial photo's, on full zoom usually brings me within 150 feet of targets, but the closer I can visually see detail on a photo, allows me to obtain more information about the target. Color photo's taken from an altitude of 1500 feet, or less are great..   Dell

Dell, the only thing I dowse is Polaroid, the rest are not reliable. I would like to tell you how manyPolaroids I have dowsed that other dowsers have dowsed the area and said there was gold and there wasn't only because they used topo maps, Terra server and regular pictures. The accuracy in all other than Polaroid is crap!  Bill

Bill, please be reasonable. You can certainly speak truthfully from your own experience, but you cannot speak  truthfully for the experience of  others. Their experiences may be different from yours, but can be just as true.

I've seen by your work that you are an excellent Dowser, with long experience, to be admired.

In my own view I find that accuracy is determined by the correct, or accurate interpretation of the individual Dowser. Even if several Dowsers dowsed the same polaroid,  their may be differences in the exact location, or  interpretation of the target. Dowsing is highly subjective to each individual's life experience, knowledge,  and personal beliefs.

Please allow me to speak freely from my own personal experience. I am not a liar.  I know better than anyone, what has, and has not worked for me.  Thanks!    Dell

No one is good enoygh to claim %199 accuracy. Yes you do use the static charge! You do not read the direct signal of the target you only read the first line and then you measure the distance half way and find the center. that is using the static charge. Bill

Dell, Please speak freely, it was not my intention to speak for you. Why I said all other dowsers use the static charge is based on all the posts and pictures I have seen from others including yourself, I have viewed.
Also trial and error had sown me without any exception, those that read the first line coming from a buried target and those that can real jewelry in other peoples house are with out exception reading the static charge.
Yes every dowser reads the so called bury treasure in a different location, now does that speak highly for ones dowsing experience!!!!!  Bill
