The model B was an electroscope and you use to be able to plug a connector in the bottom of the handle to make it a metal detector (this was in the older model b ones) they came with a coil and shaft you plugged in.  I think they quit that on the newer ones. Also the Electroscopes work off voltage for gold or silver.I think maybe the B series was set for silver only don't remember. Use to sell them. Some think they don't work but they do as I use one for huntig rings etc in city parks before I use my detector.  jmho  shortribs  rwdmo
