Hello Everyone,
I was out yesterday spending some quality time with my girlfriend, And she wanted to show me this Antique Co-op store, where she thought the prices were extreamly
high. Well if there is a bargan to be found I'll find it! and I did!!!, Although I didnt find it with my metal detector,Never the less it is a real nice find. and lets just say the price was what it would cost for lunch for 2 at a fast food resturant.
Now for the interesting part this sword has a slight curve as a saber would
have, the handle appears to be made of brass, there is some ingravings on the blade. but at this point I cannot find any hallmarks or makers name on the blade or handle. Would anyone happen know what peroid and type this sword is?...Best Wishes ....Rob

Hello Rob,

I am not an expert on edged weapons but for Japanese swords. My first impression was a ceremonial sword when looking at the thumbs. Paul is right about the sword forum. It is a verygood place for having it identified. Right now I would tend towardss a sword made between 1880 and 1940 possibly in Spain / Toledo.

Is there any writing / etching giving a date or place on the blade?

Regards,

Christian

HI Christian,
There is no makers marks on the blade anywhere to even give a hint as to the
orgin of the sword, However there is engravings and some symbals towards the bottom of the engraving I;ll post these later on today,,again thanks and Best Wishes,,,,Rob
