My propointer said this large rock ( 2 feet long) at the beach was half metal yesterday. I don't understand. Were there iron deposits on the rock I didn't see? The rock was half buried in the sand.

Hi Aslsterp7

Did you look in the sand next to the rock? It could be that there is something buried next to the rock like a piece of wire or a nail other than that there could be mineralization in that part of the rock although it should be in the entire rock. Possibly a sinker the truth is that I cant really help you on this one.  Undecided

Regards Xavier

Thanks for the tips. The sand next to the rock was registering too but as I dug deeper the rock became more and more of the hole as the rock must have been like a iceberg and got bigger as I dug deeper. So I gave up, since the pro pointer kept pointing to the rock.
