Howdy guys.
I have no dout of the stories authenticity. However the recovery is a totally different matter.
If the story is correct and the old timer did have a heart attack when he was arrested. We can basicly guarantee that any of his stash locations went with him. He would have no dout had a visual refference to the spot. To which i really would not think there would be any clear markers of clues left behind.
2nd depending on what the diamonds may have been burried in could also add or drasticly reduce the recovery of them. If they where buried in a tin or box a detector may give a hit. But if they may have been (which im likely to beleive) a satchel or cloth. Which by now would have disolved releasing the diamonds to the elements of shifting tides and sands.
Only real recovery style would be a shovel and a screen.
But where too dig.
Marticus

Yes sadly. And if someone does stumble across some of them they may never know the story behind them.
It might be better to search for the stash that was supposidly in a safe on an oil rig that sank of W.A which had hundreds of thousands in dimond tip drill bits all on the sea floor

Its interesting. Someone would have to dig deep into that story to get the facts. As the author mentions the find of diamonds as a question not so much a statement. But at the end also mentions that only a small % was recovered.
Another thing that doesnt make sense. Why would you go into an enlistment centre to join then show them the loot? That just doesnt add up.
My guess a decent % could still lay in the area of the original crash site.
