King Cobra [WIP]
« on: December 08, 2022, 09:27:27 pm »
Go Up Go Down

For ten years, the PCB has been incubating inside a dark drawer.  Now is the time for the King Cobra to hatch.  Let the project begin!

The first quest is to find the parts list for the King Cobra's External Components PCB.  Although a picture of the completed PCB and its connections is provided in the documentation, no parts list seems to be available.  For that, I need your directions.

The second quest is to acquire knowledge as to how electronic components work.  For that, I require your guidance.

• A. Some parts have the same stats but their serial numbers have different indicators (e.g.: "A", "B", "C", etc.).  Are they newer versions of the same part?
• B. The Capacitor type is not specified for most parts.  What is the best option?
• C. For mounting some of the transistors, special "docks" are soldered on the PCB.  How are they called?
• D. What happens if I install the parts not installed on the original PCB?

Thank you all in advance for sharing your wisdom!

Photos of the PCBs have been attached.

I have the two compressed archives by Eugene52 that contain the CAD2006 model by NE555 (I don't have the software to view it), and also some reference pictures.  There is supposed to be a third archive in the making, but it has not been posted yet.

Both can be found here in this forum:

EDIT

I found what is happening with the bottom side of the main PCB.  Had to register on Geotech and find the original development thread.
You can see it here (requires having a free account):

The PCB came indeed from NE555/KT315.

Thank you!  I will try to contact him there.
