i collect double barrel 410s & 28ga shotguns i bought a nice one last year a crescent arms double barell 410 the unique thing about this gun is that under the butt plate it says dad to Clyde 12  -25-29 .....so i guess you know where I'm going with this ...Clyde barrow ...i hope... he would of been 19 at the time and not in jail yet ...and the one thing that makes me think that there is a chance it belonged to him the gun came from maypearl Texas and he had family there ..i think i will submit it to history detectives ..it would make an intresting story anyway .....brad cate

My old granny used to own a walking stick .410 poachers gun years ago when she was alive.  Unfortunately when she passed on one of my aunts took possession of it and never told anyone what happened to it.  I was told it was buried in the back yard years later I could never get to search for it because of redevelopment a big block of flats had been built where my old gran used to live.
shit happens in this world.    Shocked

That is such a cool thing if it's really one of Clyde's guns...That gun would be a valuable one for sure if you could prove that he indeed owned the gun. Great Pray

History detectives is a great show, and I'm sure they would love to look into the history of that firearm for you. Either which way it turns out it's still a nice old piece of antiquity

My first shotgun was a .410 bolt action. I can't remember the manufacturer as this was in 1970 but it would have been a British make.Unfortunately our gun laws are far too severe these days.

Age 11 I always bethought .410 was a sissy shot gun.   I was a MAN, I had a 20 gage.

Never did the 16 ,28 Gauge went straight to 12 and 10.

Right about now I wish I had a .410  the only shot gun cartridge measured in Caliber not Gauge.

For the rats and stuff , I wish I could find a .22 smooth bore that would be good for the little critters too.

Over in Europe they had a .30 cal shot shell that was good for Dove, rats and stuff.

Hell if you hit a Man with one, only the Dumb would keep comming.  LOL

The .410 could also be called a 67 gauge. It would take 67 round lead balls the diameter of the barrel to weigh 1 pound.
My first gun was a Mossburg 173ya, single shot bolt action. I still have it. 12th Christmas present. Smiley
