Three years ago I found this pistol, a FN/Browning 9 mm pistol model 1910. It probably originates from WW II. Because it is not allowed to own weapons in my country I delivered this pistol at the police station.

Hi Ex Libris, Nice find, I would have been way excited to find an old firearm like that. I'm very saddened  to hear you can't own a firearm in your country! I truly believe we should all have the rights to bare arms. Living here in the beautiful north west seeing and having a gun on the hip or in the gun rack in the rear truck window is a daily sight.

Thanks for you reply. I must say I'm glad that I don't see guns here every day. In the end they are made to kill...

Yeah, that's too bad you can't own a gun in your country---that's starting to look like the plan in our country with this current president and all--making it harder for us to have firearms and the ammo to use in them...

Hello Ex Libris,
That is a very nice find you discovered there its a shame that you cant keep it,
it would take an awful lot of work to make that work again, and chances are the frame is damaged by rust and rendered unfixable, unless you had another frame And where you live you cannot own a firearm even if its not shootable ?...Rob

Well in the UK, you can own a gun that can not be used to fire live rounds, unless of course you have a permit and a damn
good reason for needing one.

It needs to be certified by a specialist board....the name slips my mind. But they check the weapon and if it can be modified, or as it is fire live
ammunition, they will disarm it and give you a cert to show its safe and you can own as many of them as you like without the need of a licence
or permit.

When the UK had a crackdown on firearms i had a Government .45 replica lying around which i took to the station but i wanted to keep it,
they sent it to the board for analysis and turns out it was indeed a model replica that could not be modified for firing live rounds and
i had to pay ?25 for the cert...and well thats history.

If anyone wants any more info or the company name that does this just pm me, ill dig out the cert and have a look, but im sure you
will find if on the net search if need be. Smiley

Hello Dragunx5,
Welcome to the forum, are you allowed to hunt there in the UK that would seem like a good reason for a permit to me. or even target shooting. here in the states each state has its own regulations as far as purchasing etc. and the federal goverment has basic rules that all has to abide by. But that is another topic for another forum Wise Funny.
Even though your firearm is deactivated Im glad you got to keep it. In most states here you can own a dummy/replica weapon with a few exceptions New York City Being one major one. and certain dummy weapons cant be sold in calf. and a few other states. depending on the weapon and the type of deactivation. again welcome to the forum, Im looking forward to reading your posts about your outtings and finds.Best Wishes...Rob
