now how real these are?....i'm ohonestly not to sure...a lot ofus that bought these weapons researched them and found that some of the parts on some of the weapons are in fact old pieces of the actual weapons themselves from the respective times the weapons are from.  however real these are, the detail that went in to replicating these if they are replicas is fairly incredible for the tools that they work with over there.  maybe these were created from the actual parts of weapons from 1861 and 1833.  some people have in fact bought actual weapons over there that are the real deal.  i honestly can't tell, but like i said the detail and craftsmanship is worthy enough to call this a good souvenir from serving over in afghanistan and look good in the house by the fireplace.  the engraving work on the six barrel is pretty cool i think.
there are some historical imperfections that i can see, tell me if you see anything else.  i am not saying these are the real deal by any means.  but they are cool, and they were fun to collect from there

I'm no expert so I'll just say that they look very nice and if they are replicas then there are many hours of work put into them and they do make excellent conversation pieces.

They're beautiful.......much better looking than the known replicas sold in AAFES in Germany in the early 70's.   It's entirely possible that those replicas were patterned after pieces like these.

Hope this link helps you decide, especially since it shows a reproduction pepperbox similar to the pepperbox you have:

love the link, thank you very much.  it's funny because the imperfections mentioned on the link are some of the ones that i noticed when bought them.  I've got a pirate picture and statue down on my mantle, and the pistols add a nice bit of nostalgia.

the handles are all wood, and the actual barrels are in fact metal.

Even early firearms would be made from steel, not brass. They're replicas. If you tried the weakest gunpowder you could find it would destroy the breech on those replicas.
