Both are very good, i have a 1265x it is a deep seeker just depending on what kind of hunting you are doing. Not real good on wet sand but can pick up a BB at 8 inches. It has a dual discrimination mode with a switch under the handle to switch from one to the other, this comes in handy, you can search in say #4 discrimination and then switch to #7 and eliminate trash.
