When I first saw Detroit cooking, I thought you were talking about cooking food, wrapped in foil, on the engine of your car as you travel to some detecting spot. There is a book called Manifold Destiny that has the how-to, recipes, etc. Time of cooking is in miles.

But the story itself, with the urban hunter, was a reality check - I've bookmarked it. No federal meat inspection - like it really means anything, anyway. Check the paw. There is a resident neighborhood coon that likes to visit my fish pond. We've tangled  Smiley  Suppose I should be a little nicer and consider it emergency food supply.

I didn't realize Detroit had dropped in population from 2 million to 900,000 and the city of San Francisco could fit on the empty lots.  Shocked Thanks for sharing the story - I enjoyed it. Sue

Castor & Pollux link - surrounding a city, assuming they'd surrender. I found it to be quite an interesting war story. Appreciate that you shared it. Sue
