Go Up Go Down

Here in the North Country we have had enough of winters snows.  Here on the lake this last storm today dumped upwards to 12-15 inches on the mountains but nothing here in the valley.  Bare ground is starting to show, and tha maple sap is running.

this marks the start of spring.  Went out to the shop today and started getting the equipment to gather the spring harvest of wild ramps, fiddlehead ferns and moral mushrooms ready.  How many of you gathers wild edibles in the spring?

I also find that before the leaves and forest understory are green, it's easy to find new cellar holes and abandoned farmhouses, and have dinner to boot.
