Homefire, the real, dyed in the wool DIY types use it for making their own transducers. You do need specialized equipment though. You have to melt it to a liquid and then sputter it (like spray painting with molten metal) on to a metal substrate. Don't chew on it when you're finished. The end product is highly carcinogenic. It can give you cancer in hours, not months, if you ingest it. I don't recommend the sulphuric acid route. The fumes are just too noxious.

Overall, it's nasty stuff and you're much better off without it.

This is the reason why i posted this in the DIY side scan forum. Then some MOD moved it to a place where no one knows what this material is used for.

I split it from the original post because you were not clear about what you wanted to do. This is hard to use stuff and you attached it onto an already long thread. You should have started your own topic and mentioned very clearly that you were aiming for the DIY crowd.

It is also used for peizo sensors and detectors, vibration sensors, strain gauges and as heat sink insulators/isolators in Pelltier junctions.

Oh Yummy!

I've played with Yellow Cake before age 11.  Took it to school and my Science teacher borrowed it never to be seen again.  Been exposed to High Energy Microwaves , Work Related.  Worked on live   1 Kilo Watt radio lines while hot.  Gutted the Fiber glass and Asbestos  out of old war planes (NO MASK),

Still kicking at 53, well sorta.  I have all kinds of issues going on.

No, I think I'll pass on this one.
