I have made my field activities a continual search and discovery for materials for sculpture and jewelry for clients with a wholesale business interest.  Woolly Mammoth Ivory is my most favorite but the material that pays the investment return in greater numbers is 'Domestic Cow Bone.'  This cow bone is easier to acquire and sell compared to Woolly Mammoth Ivory due to price points offered.  So far I supply Alaska, with this cow bone production, targeting mainly tourism during the summer months.  A few clients do supply my production with  fossil (organic) bone and antler of Moose to turn into items for their resale endeavors.  The most popular items are cow bone pendants of a myriad of designs targeting local design concepts and 'tattoo' studios, my ever growing interests. Week-end markets, personal designed jewelry showings, and gift shops requiring specific designs are a rapid re-order venture. So, no matter how much I love to work ancient ivory, the money in my production (especially in this economy) is 'first' 'cow bone,' 'moose antler,' then Mammoth ivory. All of these items are legally shipped internationally.  Fully hand carved 'Pendants,' of cow bone are from $8.00 to $12.00 with cord attached as the photo illustrates.  More photos and field work archives are in my web sites.

Thank you for your email response and to answer your inquiry, I do not buy cow bone as the local farmers supply my studio with it periodically. I do have a market to purchase Woolly Mammoth Ivory and bone from those with a supply available.  WjSidmore
