I am not trying to bust anyone's bubble here, as I have been trying myself for 2 years. The original website clearly states that it is unavailable, and that was back in 2013. I have a feeling that Howie is no longer able to make them. If it is not patented, you could easily make one yourself or have someone else make it for you. Good welding is a must.

A bad day at gold prospecting or metal detecting is better than a good day at work.

R Adams ON YOUTUBE told me that he knows the maker of these scoops and that the fellow hasn't been making any of them for a while. I had thought about trying to buy one also. I think that they look like decent scoops, but I am rough on a scoop and wonder if I might better stick with the stainless steel ones because of their strength. I've even had to have some extra welding done on a stainless scoop and the handle eventually got a slight bend to it but wasn't bad enough to hurt it. I just don't think aluminum will hold up as well in the rough conditions I've hunted in.
